Been playing golf here almost every week for going on what must be 10 years. The place ain't fancy but it's well run, the staff is friendly and the rates are cheap. 9 hole executive course playable in about an hour fifteen minutes so plenty of time to work or whatever rest of day.

One of the oldest in the Valley, all kinds of golfers in every age group and financial situation. The course itself reminds me of a layout I've played amongst the Maui resorts.. Kaanapali. The grass isn't as lush, trees not as tall and ocean a non-entity, but links style. And it's a real course in downtown Phoenix that's fun to play, not just look at. On the driving range you're hitting off turf, they don't even HAVE plastic mats! Old school and better for it. The people are genuine and even the snowbirds are catching on...if you play then it should be relaxed, if you'd rather just look good on the course go check out Grand Canyon's attempt. Encanto is affordable fun for any real golfer, carts if you want, walk if you don't kind of golf. If you don't have that perfect swing just hit it again kind of golf...with a smile.

Decent public course. No beer cart, no grill for a bite to eat afterward. Staff was friendly and they had enough items in clubhouse. Course needed more watering. Not many fairway bunkers to contend with. It is a good value and slightly challenging but not for someone looking for a nice course.
