Braemar Country Club - US Open/Western Ratings & Reviews

Braemar Country Club - I have finally cancelled our social membership at this dive. A total waste of money. We live nearby and were the sole family in our immediate neighborhood to stubbornly maintain a membership there. Braemar Country Club is geared towards business mixers, senior citizens, and corporate events, and does absolutely nothing to foster a local social community. In fact, quite the opposite. The club is supervised by nasty, LAPD-style Managers, and appears to do everything possible to alienate younger families, or new members. More so, Braemar keeps wasting money on improving their facilities, in the hopes of improving their failing membership. Seems pointless. For a very short time Braemar did have a nice General Manager from Australia who tried his best, but unfortunately, he did not last long. For now, a membership at Braemar Country Club is a total waste of our hard-earned money.

I could not be more pleased! I became a member strictly because of Braemar Country Club's central location in the San Fernando Valley, and wow! I have been pleasantly surprised by the genuine warmth, graciousness, kindness, and care of both the professional staff, as well as my brother and sister members. Having been a guest at numerous private country clubs, I expected the cliquishness and 'good ol' boy' network that makes new initiates unwelcome.
Again, humbly amazed, I have been welcomed. . .from the Membership Directors (Janine Walker and Erin Kennedy) to the expert and etiquette driven wait staff, to every member I have had to pleasure to be introduced, to the warm and engaging GM Ryan Wingo; and wonderfully, even enveloped in goodness by our 'star in the making' bartender Jon!
There is such a warm, family-driven atmosphere. . . and on a Friday night you will be overwhelmed with the sounds of gleeful children, enjoying dinner with their parents in the clubhouse restaurant. . .does it get any better.
I am perplexed by the negative comments, seems there are folks who would seek to spoil 'sweet milk'. . .
Curmudgeons will be sorely disappointed. This is more than a golf club. It is a warm haven in this very lonely city that we live in.
I look forward to deepening friendships and ridin' Harley Davidsons with the Executive Chef, and the bartender, and my new golf and tennis buddies. . .all in an idyllic and familial aureole.
Is this heaven?

The food could be better, but very few places have made amounts of food and have it be tasty. Great people. Lots of families. Gotta get rid of the DJ they use ad nauseam . Could put together better events. Not a ton of participation.
