Played lakes. Great course. Well worth the stop.

My brother and I play this course about twice a year over the last decade and always enjoy it. Actually quite a nice course out in the middle of ... hmmm ... nowhere! The layout is great and offers challenges at all levels for a very fair price. My 3 stars for our round of golf on Apr 14 2017 is low due to the poor poor quality of the greens. Yes, they were green ... but so slow you couldn't putt with a driver more than about 3 feet, almost like the golf ball was carrying a refrigerator. I think they hadn't been mowed or pressed for a few days, and greatly decreased the quality of the round. I'd usually give the course 4 or 5 stars, but this day ... not so much. As a side note, the sand bunkers actually kind of suck all the time: rocks, very thin (hit bottom often) and on some there is netting protruding up into the surface area - they could do wonders to improve the bunkers to make them more playable.

Ok. My brother and I made another run to state line and gave the course another try. Played the Desert Course. My complaints about the greens have been alleviated - they were GREAT; well groomed, cut short, balls rolled true, and speed was as you would hope a well tended course would provide. Course is very nice looking, and fairways were almost perfect.
I have upgraded my rating to 5 stars, although they can still spend some time on those bunkers! Thank you Primm for your attention to improving the experience.

The one good aspect is the greens are decent. The course is in dire need of attention and grooming. Mowing is pathetic...you can smell the mold of grass throughout the course. The bunkers are unplayable...they don't even put rakes out. Did not see one ballwasher anywhere. Could be a beautiful course with some serious TLC.
