I grew up playing this course and we used to always joke about it being only 9 holes and sort of short and all that. As I've moved away and played other courses all over the state, I've grown more and more impressed with that 9 hole oasis on the Colorado plains. It's a tremendous course, especially for the area where it's located! Surrounded by desert-like dunes and grassland, it is extremely well-maintained. Quality fairways lead to challenging but generally smooth greens. The creek that runs through the course comes into play directly on 6 of the 9 holes and is coupled with a well-designed layout and elevation changes that allow you to hit every club in the bag. A few of the par 4s are driveable, which adds some excitement, and others force you to take out different clubs on the tee based on the hole's shape and the creek's location.
All in all, I love my old home course! If you are ever in Southeast Colorado, this is really the only course worth playing, and I highly suggest it!
