Incredibly slow pace of play. Tee time of 9:37a but ended up teeing off around 9:55a. No course marshal was seen in the SIX HOURS it took to finish 18 holes, so pace of play was never enforced. Three groups would be backed up at each tee box awaiting their turn to play. The group behind us hit into us three times while we stood waiting for the green to clear, as if we had a choice. At $55 for the round (and that's with a "deal" from Golf Now), you're better off going somewhere else so the rest of your day isn't wasted.

I have golfed at this course many times and it is truly one of my favorites in the Idaho area. My last trip to the Highlands was mediocre at best. I will say that the fairways are well kept and the course is in great condition! We called ahead for lunch on the 9th hole and arrived at the clubhouse 15 minutes later. The order for one of our sandwiches was completely wrong, and I am not usually one to complain but I had to in this case. I order a turkey bacon avocado sandwich and asked to have the cheese and tomatoes taken off. When I received the sandwich it had no bacon, no avocado, and it had Swiss cheese on it. I told the waitress that it was missing the main components of the sandwich and that there was cheese on the sandwich. Her reply was rude and snippy. She left and came back later to tell me that I asked for no mayonnaise and that the avocado is mixed with the mayo. I told her that she must have heard my order wrong but she took the time to defend herself and tell me (the customer) that I was at fault. I asked her if she could just get me a side of avocado and some bacon strips because I didn't want a new sandwich. She walked away, came back and told me that the kitchen was making me a new sandwich even after I told her I did not want them to. It took 15 minutes for that sandwich to be made and any golfer knows you can't spare 15 minutes because it will throw off the pace of play. Fifteen minutes later she arrived with my sandwich and rudely placed it on the counter and left. We then went to the 10th hole on the course and right in the middle of my back swing a women on a lawn mower decided to drive right in front of the tee box just as I was about to hit. It took her another minute to travel to the other side of the tee box but it was completely unnecessary of her to start the mower and move it right in my line. The next four holes she followed us around with the mower and did the same thing repeatedly. I was annoyed to say the least but I should not be worried about hitting a worker with a golf ball on every single hole. I hope management fixes or looks into these issues because it truly is a beautiful golf course.
