Lake Cumberland State Resort Park Golf Course Ratings & Reviews

It was really enjoyable - wear sunscreen. Friendly staff. Nice campgrounds. And the lake is really great too, a usual. The lake residential areas are so diverse I haven't even been to all of them. We usually go to the State Dock and State Campgrounds. If you want to get into boating try this lake, and then Lake James in Indiana, they are good compliments of each other, Cumberland really deep and rocky everywhere and James extremely shallow with shallow sandy zones which can be fun.

Although when you get to an area where you can actually see the Lake Cumberland it was beautiful. The campgrounds should not be considered “Resort” by any account. If you tent or pop up camp it is probably fine but they can not accommodate anything larger than a 20 foot camper without much difficulty due to unmanaged large trees, sign posts, spot posts, and ditches. It is primarily a tent/small trailer facility. It was clean, the staff were very nice, but don’t go in with a big camper or you will be sorry. Also you can not see the lake from the campground at all. You have to drive to marina and boat launch. Restaurant was average for a State Park.

Family vacation was a slower pace this year. 4 days on a house boat with plenty of jet skiing and kayaking from the house boat. Pleasant quiet coves to shore up for the night. We even happened across a neat water way hike in a dry waterfall area.
