Lake Cumberland State Resort Park Golf Course Ratings & Reviews

A great cozy place. I really look forward to going back. The staff was super friendly. My best friend, her daughter, and myself stayed in a nice little cottage for a girl's weekend. We had a really nice waitress at the restaurant at the lodge. It was a pleasant experience.

We hosted our family Christmas there over a 2 night stay. The staff went so far above our expectations in every manner.
The restaurant staff far exceeded what we imagined. Tables decorated abd food buffet stocked fully.
This spot was a hit with the entire family. Old to young found fun activities or just spots for quiet time.
Thanks Lake Cumberland Staff for a perfect venue for our Christmas 2017. The 21 of us loved the stay.

Four stars for the lodging and overall experience! Three stars for the dining room, for the reasons detailed below.
Clean, modern room (stayed on 3rd floor of Lure Lodge), dog-friendly, really enjoyed the park amenities such as hiking (we geocached), the indoor pool, mini golf, and the game room. The Country Store/mini golf staff was nice, and we appreciated the fishing gear loaner program. Game room needs attention -- several of the games and one pool table were out of order.
While the food, in general, tasted good and seemed freshly prepared, the dining room seemed *very* poorly managed. Service was typically very slow, even though they were not busy. We kept getting seated without being offered kids menus, or one night even the specials. We kept getting charged $2.50 each for our kids' drinks, which according to the kids menu should have been included when we ordered kids meals (the server took it off our bill each time we pointed it out); also the kids menu indicated each meal should have included both a veg and a fruit side -- our kids never got both. (One server, Elizabeth, was very friendly and did go above and beyond to custom make fruit cups for our kids, which we greatly appreciated!) Twice our servers went to lunch before we finished our meal, without arranging for someone else to refill drinks or check on us -- and one of those times we wanted to leave the table but couldn't, because she hadn't given us our check. Since the employees gather together for a meal in the dining area after breakfast hours have ended, we had to disturb the server while she ate to ask for our check; the other server went to lunch long before the dining hours ended, so once I drained my drink I was out of luck. Cereal but no milk on the buffet, with no sign indicating how to get milk. One morning we asked for cereal milk and the server apologetically brought some; the next morning the server said she'd bring some for the cereal and "wouldn't even charge us." Why would they put cereal on a buffet then charge extra for the milk to go with it!?
Whoever is managing the dining room really needs to take a step back and assess, start to finish, the dining experience. At minimum, revamp the kids menu to reflect the prices and items actually included with the meal. Really hate to say it, but the pattern of sub-par service we experienced would *never* fly in a private sector dining establishment -- it would go out of business, and/or be unable to retain staff because the tips left behind would be so poor :(
