My friends and I were thinking we might give this course another try. We have played here in the past, the course was great, but had some issues with how we were treated by upper level staff. As I look at some recent reviews, I can see our experiences are not isolated, and it doesn't look like things have changed for the better. Ownership may want to review the adage, “The customer is always right.” Then pass the concept on to staff. Thought I'd add my two cents, then move on to another quality Maine course, there are plenty. The local peasants do have other options. ;~)

The Golf Course itself gets 5 stars from me, no question. Unfortunately I cannot say the same about those at the pro shop. Apparently our pace of play was an issue while waiting out a couple rain delays, even though we were the only group out today. The Golf Director hunted us down on the 13th to question what we were doing and telling us that we were going to destroy the course. All of this after we were told we could take our time and that there was no rush out there. If a golf course can’t handle an hour of rain then it should be changed to a rice farm. The course was fine. It was playing very well with cart path only. It seemed as though the director had some better place to be and we were ruining his “rainy day” plans. It’s unfortunate because the course is gorgeous. Driving 2.5 hours to play 12 holes of golf isn’t ideal, but at least we didn’t have to deal with the director for the full 18. They knew it was going to rain, if you don’t want people to play then don’t take their money, and don’t tell them it’s wide open and good luck. Hey, at least we got a “6-hole” voucher to use between the 4 of us. It’s a shame because the course is beautiful!! I’ll save some gas and play Sunday River next time!
