I had the privilege of being the Golf operations/ golf professional assistant in the summer of 2018. Wildflower Golf Course is a one of a kind. Being from San Diego, making the trip and staying in Detroit Lakes for 3 months was quite the culture shock. However, I wouldn't trade it for anything. The people I met and the experiences I had helped make this the best summer I've ever had. My coworkers became good friends, as well as the members and regulars at the course. There are so many cool different aspects to this course, which make it unique. From the small old school pro shop, to the unreal golf course right around the corner. The course is in phenomenal shape, especially with how small the staff is and the resources given. The 7000 yard course is one like I have never seen before. From breathtaking views, elevated tee boxes, and options to play the course from different yardages, this is a course where any type of player can have fun! It favors the smart player, where getting aggressive can result in looking for your ball for 10 minutes in the prairie grass. For a player like myself there was no better feeling than minimizing my mistakes and being able to post a good round on that golf course. It challenged every part of my game, and never forgot to reward my good shots. All in all, I recommend playing this course to anyone in the area, due to the friendly staff and unbelievable golf course!

This golf course is a wonderful place to work. As an employee I was exposed to friendly guests and gain relationships with all the golfers that come in and out of the course. This golf course is always in excellent condition which made my job a lot easier when serving customers. As an employee and a golfer, I would highly recommend playing this course for the challenging holes and great atmosphere that comes along with Wildflower.

I spent one of my favorite Summers working here. All of the employees became a family while working and I miss this place on the daily! Forever grateful for the experiences I got at Wildflower and the great people I met along the way!
