Superior National Golf Course - River/Mountain Ratings & Reviews

Spectacular views. That would be about all I can say about this place.
Every, and I mean every, person working in the clubhouse seems inconvenienced when you ask them to do anything. They are severely understaffed and easily overwhelmed.
Lastly, if you say this course is in superb shape, you don’t know golf. If fairways and roughs with weeds growing in them is good shape, then you would be right about it being in good shape. The pins don’t look like they have been moved in weeks, this divots everywhere causing putts to roll terribly.
For the money, I can tell you that I wouldn’t come back to this place.

Played twice in August, 2018: The views are spectacular - but you already know that. The greens are not particularly fast, but roll nicely. All the putts break to the lake - even when they appear not to. The teeboxes and fairways are clay-based and quite hard. Not the typical sand/peat mix of a resort course. Staff was friendly, pace was fine. Did not use the practice range or the mountain 9 hole course.

Spectacular lake views, multiple challenging river crossings and dramatic topography/elevation change come together in this gem... and with 27 holes there is a great chance to get out there most days. Play it if you get a chance, even if you have only time for nine.
