The Oaks Course at The Tan-Tar-A Resort Ratings & Reviews
4 days ago
Beautiful from what i could see, but i was on business and xouldnt play.
But holy cow was the tan tar (now called margaritaville after jimmy buffet bought it) was so very run down and dirty. Broken elevators, missing light bulbs in dark parking garage, rooms were so dirty,.
When i first checked in, my room hadnt been cleaned yet, upon calling front desk, they cheerfully told me that someone would be right there to take me to another room and help me carry my bags. The young girl came quickly, but didnt help me carry my bags, my arms were full and i was struggling to carry them, exhausted from all the walking because elevator button had tape on it saying it doesnt stop on 5th floor, so ya have to go up an extra floor and walk down stairs.
I was really hoping she would free up my arms by carrying one bag, but she, simply put, was too oblivious and lazy to even notice my struggle.
Upon getting to new room, she left and said nothing of an appology.
But it gets worse, i saw bed sheets on both beds had hair on one and recent body fluid on the other (pics are of the 1st room not being cleaned, other pics are of dirty sheets in new room and elevator button out of service long enough to have an aged piece of paper taped on it. How long does it take to replace the button, or panel?).
During my 3 day stay, i regularly saw the 2 maintenance guys just kind of strolling around, like they were burning the clock.
Mr. Buffet, please overhaul both your maintenance and cleaning staff.

Nice golf course with a very nice staff. Course has a fun layout that I'm sure is beautiful during the right season. When the wind is blowing I'm sure this is a very challenging track. Everything seemed to be in good shape on the course, the greens had just been aerated but rolled well and I bet they're very fast in the summer with some tough pin placements.
