This is a home course (sorta) since I work in El Reno. The staff are very friendly, accommodating, and have a sense of urgency to help. The grill and bar is a great spot to stop for lunch. My review of the course is listed below:
Driving Range- Enough room to hit but could use distance markers clearly labeled. the hitting surface is very indicative of the course:rough, spotty, and hard.
Putting Area: very well kept. ball rolls nicely and excellent shape to chip, bump and run, or flop around the edges
Tee Boxes - the tee boxes need major soil work: not leveled, dry or little chance to create a divot, and needs manicured more often. As a left handed player, I'm mostly always hitting with the ball above my feet off the tee.
Fairways and rough - I mostly find these not up to par with the membership cost or the cost of a round. They are hard, poorly managed, and often mix together where the you cant define where one ends and the other begins. This is mostly due to the obvious lack of detail to pretreating weeds, not mowing, and no sign of aeration. Still playable but you can often find yourself scratching your head when your ball is lost on the fairway.
Greens area - This is the darling of the course. Somehow with the lack of attention to other areas, the greens are spectacular. They roll well, are challenging at times and your ball sticks with a great shot. the fringe and rough; however, need major work: weed infested and frankly not up to par.
Environment: the front 9 offers some great views. The houses lining the first few holes starts the course off great and that continues though hole 4 and again as you finish 7-9. The back 9 is where the course falls apart as far as view (besides the lake). It at times has an arid or desert feel and the course reflects that by the poor conditions of the actual course.
Overall - I would play here again and again as its very convenient. Its worth noting that the labor is done by inmates and a few staff. This could explain the course management or it could make one think they are charging $28 a round and $1400 a year for membership but not putting the money needed back into the course. My guess is they are lacking a true course management professional due to the area or inability to pay the salary. This course has the ability to be a gem for western Oklahoma but is lacking in many areas.

Excellent course, fun layouts one of the best public back 9s in central OK. Decent putting green. Fair prices too
Edit: Course is in terrible shape, horrible drainage issues pocky greens, fairways are tall and rough. The range is a joke. This place was a gem when I first played it
almost 2 years ago
Good price but when I played a lot of the holes were poorly cared for, the greens were ok but on some holes I couldn't even tell were the Fairway was and the course was green some places and looked like a desert in others.
