Mt. Airy remains one of the most challenging courses I've ever played! Long, narrow, well bunkered (but needing a lot of new sand!), ...but not punitive. It rewards good/ smart shot placement.
However...spending millions on the new casino and then not improving the course to the same degree is a mistake. Seriously... the course was virtually the same as I remembered it from 15 years ago. No improvements. A shame!

Decent course. Poor management and unfriendly staff. There are many other options in the area.

Good, challenging course. Very unfair tho to anyone playing for the first time. Countless blind shots on every hole and trouble laying right over the hill you just hit a great shot on, only to discover a pond, bunker, rough or any other hazard that you couldn't see from the tee or fairway and doesn't show on the scorecard. A simple sign at the tee box giving you yardage to a target would be much appreciated and since the carts don't have gps, your first round or two can only be described as a scouting mission, if you ever intend to play it again. I guess you can opt to by a yardage book, but again, you won't see where half your shots land
