This course has a lot of sentimental value to me, as it was one of our courses in high school. Even years and years after graduating, going back still brings back fond memories. The course is fun to play. It may not be the most challenging course in the area but it's still a good test of golf. It eases you into the round with a nice downhill par 3 and then a very gettable par 5, and drivable par 4. Starting on #4 though you need to hit some golf shots or bogeys await. Course is always in good condition. I played there today and really enjoyed it. The bunkers were perfectly smooth, tees and fairways maintained and greens well conditoned. I travel a lot for work so I'm not always up on the weather in the area. Someone told me that the course was under 8 feet of water back at the end of July! The course sits in a flood plane. It blows my mind that the course was a river less than two months ago and was already back to the condition it was. I think a lot of that has to do with the pride the owner has in the property and his love of the game. I will always make it a point to come back and play Frosty Valley so I can reminisce of the days when I was actually good at golf!!

You don't come here because it's a prestigious course. You come here if you're a weekend hacker looking to roll up in shorts and a tee shirt, drink some adult beverages, and have a good time with some buddies without paying an arm and a leg. Is the occasional sand bunker actually going to be mud? Yes. Is there a chance you're going to have a train pass through for a few minutes? Yes. Quick summary of holes: #1: short par 3, green below you. Easy start. #2: short par 5, creek on your right and trees on your left. If you're good, an easy birdie opportunity. Should really be played as a challenging par 4. #3: par 4, hard dog left left. Tee box is in front of water. It will be tempting to circumvent the dog leg and sky one up towards the green #4: cross the train tracks and look upwards at a green way above above you. Big hitters can get it close and allow a chip to get close the hole. Very challenging green with many undulations. #5: tee box up high above water, with trees beyond it. Hard dog leg Left. You can play smart and hit the fairway, or you can go wild and blast it towards the trees and hope to get lucky. If you do, you have a chip shot to the green and a birdie chance #6: cross back over the tracks for a short, tough par 4: tracks/woods on your left, trees on your right. Better hit it straight #7: hard hole. Par 5 that curves left then right. Creek on your left, high grass right. #8: short par 3 over water #9: bring it home with tracks on your right and grasses/water on your left. Tip: if you spray your driver, better off hitting something short and straight off the tee

What is wrong with you reviewers. I can't speak for the reviews from years ago, but today, the course was a wonderful experience. I traveled from Florida and played 2 rounds here. The course is absolute beautiful. The scenery. The creek. The greens are near perfect. The course is a little short, but also very challenging. Rude workers? Are you joking? I was welcomed with open arms. When the man at the desk found out I was from out of town, he sat down with me and went over every hole and offered some advice. Ugly? It's beautiful. Yes there are storage units. Not in view from any hole that I can remember. Yes there is a single train track, which actually adds some charm. Symbol of old Pittsburgh. Driving down the tracks was fun. Never did I actually see or hear a train. This was the most fun and beautiful executive course that I ever played, and remember, I am from Florida and golf once to three times a week. What is wrong with these snobby posters? The price, $24 for 9 with a cart. OK, maybe a bit steep for Pittsburgh, but really? Where do you play so nice that is so much cheaper? How you seen golf prices around this country? This course is great. Thanks to the wonderful staff. - Rob - Melbourne FL
