Golden Bear Golf Club at Indigo Run: Neither spectacular nor overly plain, this is a very pleasant and well laid out course that epitomises much of Hilton Head golf. Nicklaus's design is both fair and challenging, depending on which tees you select.
Tall pines and sturdy oaks line the fairways (along with much housing, which is kept at a discrete distance). There are plenty of water hazards along the way, good bunkering and even-paced greens that are appropriately sized for the hole in question.

Course was in good shape, greens were smooth and quick. Only problem was pace of play. Took over 5 hrs to play. This was Friday afternoon. Understand course had been closed previous 2 days for overseeding and evidently everyone decided to play Friday.

Great staff, very helpful, course was nice but not up to what I though a Jack Nicklaus course would be. They were doing repairs on each hole to the sprinklers or something like that. Each green had a freshly cover ditch dug around it. I'm sure its a beautiful course when all of that isn't going on, but It seemed a little beat up.
