If you're looking for a top notch course in the Charlotte area (50 mile radius) for $25 - $30 you need a reality check. Those days are gone unless you travel further out (Eagle Chase, Edgewater, Chester, or Lancaster). Pinetuck is an average golf course with great greens that one can often play for $15 - $20 through Golf Now. I'll cover five areas (club house, tee boxes, fairways, greens and carts) in this review to justify my 3* rating. First, the club house is very dated and is in need of remodeling. However, the staff (Don, Lewis & David) are very nice especially if you visit more than once. The food is fairly priced and decent. Three Stars. Next, the tee boxes are average at best. They need watering and better grass. They are very difficult in the summer heat to place a tee. Two Stars. Third, the fairways are decent. These have improved over the last couple years tremendously. I'm a bogey golfer and not a pro, if I land in the fairway and the lie is not great, I simply place the ball as I believe I should not be punished for being in the fairway. The Bermuda grass is looking strong for 2018. Three Stars. Fourth, the greens are some of the best in the Charlotte area. They are Bent grass so expect variations compared to the Mini Verde used on most other courses. Sometimes the greens are over watered but only a couple hold enough to impact putts. Overall they roll true and are a joy as one can actually go for the pin and not worry about the ball running off or taking a crazy bounce like the Bermuda greens. Four Stars. Finally, the golf carts need to be replaced. I recommend walking if you can, unless you receive a fully charged cart. Two Stars. The course has four holes over water (two par 3's and two par 4's). These are awesome and challenging. Do yourself a favor and give Pinetuck a chance, but keep your expectations in check. Another great part is that you can pay an annual membership for $600 (family $700).

Booked on golfnow, paid the convenience fee and had to pay $21 at the course. Also, had to show the guy that checked me in that I had paid for 18 and not 9 holes. The course is classic cow pasture golf, except the greens, which were in very good condition. The greens rolled fast and true. All in all, a decent course for the price but I definitely wouldn't pay more than the $21. Regular fees are $40 on Friday (really??). I had my 4 year old with me. I let him hit balls and putt, when we're not being pushed. The twosome in front of us was quite slow and didn't offer to let me play through. I skipped 11 and 12 to get ahead and then the cart started acting up. We barely made it past 17 green, skipping every hole from 14 on. We had a small cheering section walking up the cart path by 18 (bar patrons). I went up on the deck where I was asked by someone if my cart had died, he appeared to be associated with the course. He apologized. I didn't say anything to him, other than telling him the location of the dead cart. Funny enough, I had read a review where another patron had his cart die during the round. I thought, well that's probably a rare occurrence. Anyway, I wouldn't play here again without a huge discount and I don't recommend it for anyone looking for a good golf course.

Poor layout for the front nine with poorly kept conditions. Back 9 slightly better. Driving range and clubhouse need remodeling.
