Invited to the club at Cordillera Ranch tonight. The views from the back deck were absolutely breathtaking. Although it was July 12th, we sat outside and there was a pleasant breeze. I could easily see three to five miles. The wine pours were generous, the food was delicious, and the service was excellent. In my opinion, the best country club in all of San Antonio by far

What can you say? It's the club house for the 2nd wealthiest neighborhoods in the Hill country. If you have the opportunity to check it out I would highly recommend.

Went there for dinner with friends who are residents and the place is GORGEOUS! It was at night and I couldn't see all of the other amenities. However, the food was 2/5 stars. The tap beer was good, but that's easy. For appetizers we ordered chicken wings, half Korean and half buffalo... we got all buffalo. I ordered a side Caesar salad. It seemed half-way legit: 1. actually made with only romaine 2. already tossed with Caesar dressing 3. freshly shredded parm cheese (I prefer thinly sliced, but it was fresh) 4. fake, pre-made bagged croutons AND 5, the DEAL BREAKER - anchovies... I understand that anchovies make a true Caesar salad--I'm not opposed to that, I like anchovies! However, when you pour the anchovies out of the can (with the water inside the can), crush the anchovies and pour that will all the water all over the lettuce and everything else, you get a salad that tastes like anchovie water. I couldn't eat it.
THEN, there's the fish tacos that I ordered. When I see fish tacos on a menu, I order them. So, I ordered them - and the "my Paxil is working great today" waiter informed me it was swordfish today. OK. I'm cool with that. I like swordfish. When they arrive, with the black beans and Mexican rice with the 2 tacos, I said, "this looks good." Then I tasted it: 1. the black beans were bland and tasted like they were straight from the can 2. same for the rice 3. the tacos had a "white sauce" on it that looked good with a strip of swordfish and some un-seasoned coleslaw. The white sauce was sour cream and it had NO FLAVOR.
I plan to never return here for food again. Golf, pool, gym, anything else... OK, but the food, pass.
