Course has a few spots where it needs work, but overall It was beautiful. The bunkers were clean and soft. Greens were probably the slowest in Austin that I have played, but that was an easy adjustment, better too slow than too fast. The club house and grill were under renovation so that was a slight bummer. Deer everywhere! That was an interesting experience as they have been nearly domesticated so your presence doesn't phase them, got many close up shots of baby deer. The course is out of the way for me, but I'd gladly play here again. The older gent in the clubhouse was a little abrasive, but the marshal was very nice.

Have to update: Wow! Do not play here! They are under total different management or something. We have never had a problem out here until today. A guy kept hitting into us, foursome in front of us, so we couldn't do anything but wait. After my husband told him to watch his landing zone, nothing was done. Just saying my husband was in the wrong since he spoke up. Mind you I am in the cart hanging out most of the time so if you hit the roof of the cart, it could have hit me.
Can't believe how the cart guy treated us as we left. Came out to enjoy the summer solstice. Longest day of the year. After we finally got to 18 we couldn't play... Thanks to you big guy. Won't be back out here... Sorry.
Husband always enjoys this course. I love to drive the golf cart and feed the deer.

Lago Vista golf course is a solid golf course located in Lago Vista that borders Lake Travis. They have a nice clubhouse (grill currently under construction), driving range, and the course is in decent shape during this hot summer months. This is worth the shirt drive from Austin if you are looking for a new course to play. Side note the other course in Lago Vista Highland Lakes is currently closed and the city is looking for a buyer to reopen it.
