General Deacon Course at Woodlands Resort & Country Club Ratings & Reviews
13 days ago
I joined around 5 years ago because I fell in love with the fairways and greens. The fairway grass was so plush I had to touch it to make sure it was real. Greens were well taken care of. Played Panther yesterday and decided not to go back until conditions are better and I love Panther. Course conditions aren't up to par. I understand these courses get a lot of play, 6 groups on 3 holes but it isnt what I fell in love with and hasn't been for a time now. What the heck happened. I will give the personnel a 5 star rating though. Always friendly and outgoing. At least Lake Windcrest is taken care of.

The Woodlands Resort & Conference Center is home to two "out-and-back" style championship golf courses. The often higher-rated Panther Trail course, was originally laid out by Joe Lee and Robert Von Hagge, and substantially renovated by Roy Case in 2002. The course is characterised by large greenside and fairway bunkers, gently rolling fairways and tall Carolina Pine lining every hole. There's plenty of water to be avoided on the challenging back-nine, not least at the island green par-4 18th.

Nice facility. Focus is on golf and good dining and brews after the round. Played the Oaks course and loved the old fashion and great layout as well as it's beauty.
