Service was hit or miss - unfortunately I can count who gave excellent service. Food was very good. While I understand the historical Greenbrier decor, the hotel needs a refurbishment. Golf facilities were fine, the courses could have used a bit more tending - maybe it was all the rain?! Waterworks at the spa was very relaxing and my attendant was very nice. Shooting clays was fun and the instructor was helpful and nice.

Not bad but for a resort with the reputation it has it's not maintained to the level. You can tell the owner is cheap and cuts corners. Not really worth $400+ per night. It is a beautiful place though they just need to step it up a little. And don't but the cheapest toilet paper available. I still would recommend it though

Like no other hotel resort experience. Everything you can think of is here, in old-money opulence and charm. Spa, movies, bowling, arcades, cold-war nuclear bunker tours, offroading, horses, it's all here, and it's all done in the fanciest classic movie era style. Literally just walking around and looking at all the fancy rooms took a whole afternoon. The golf we played was on the prettiest course I have ever seen. I can't describe it any better than that. All this being said, be aware - stuff is expensive...really quite expensive. By all means, make the trip, but do some research to know what you're getting into! If you want to feel like part of the elite, or feel like you're in a movie with Fred Astaire, you'll be fine here. If you want to preserve your wallet's contents, do your research.
